Cannabis has been legal throughout America's history until 1935 when a federal law was passed banning marijuana. Weed has a lot of uses. For example, fabric(hemp),recreational use, and medicinal purposes. Weed is the only "drug" that does not harm the human body greatly; the effects of it are temporary. Since the ban of cannabis in 1935, weed became a schedule 1 narcotic which basically means no one is suppose to have possession of it.
in November 2, 2010, California tried to pass the cannabis act. The act was to legalize marijuana and people over the age of 21 can consume cannabis without getting into any federal trouble. If weed was to be legal, the economy would grow; since it has no withdrawal like other drugs, cannabis is perfect for recreational use instead of liquor and alcohol.
